Fund Accountant / adjunct Manager:

Job description:


Job Summary:
The person will have a varied multi-tasking function, including managing the department/team members, and client relationship (dealing with clients and counterparts in other offices, fund managers and investors), reporting to HNW investors, and everyday internal/external communication combined with all significant and connected administration.  In addition, the manager will review accounting work and reporting packages prepared by team members. This person will also prepare/review client compliance files, maintain the client database and manage/perform administrative functions related to
client funds, including the invoicing/collection process and communicating with other fund participants (bankers, fund lawyers, tax advisors etc.).
Key Job responsibilities:
    Manage multiple investment fund client relationships and act as their primary relationship manager.
    Prepare and provide accurate net asset value calculations on a monthly/quarterly basis, which includes:
- Liaising with investment managers, prime brokers and custodians in relation to trading activity as required for transaction processing and NAV preparation
- Cash and portfolio reconciliations (investment trading activity)
    Process investor-related transactions (subscriptions, redemptions).
    Conduct client and investor due diligence - KYC, AML, FATCA/CRS and on-boarding process.
    Ensure the Fund and Investor set ups are processed, registers updated and the connected records are filed and maintained.
    Ensure fund earnings and expenses, including management and performance fees, are accrued for and are in conformity with IFRS.
    Prepare/review draft financial statements with footnotes.
    Coordinate, manage and monitor external audit process.
    Coordinate and monitor capital activity including capital calls, distributions, and transfers.
    Prepare/review fee calculations including management fees, admin fees, waterfall/clawback and carried interest calculations).
    Prepare/review limited partner & general partner allocations and prepare partner capital statements.
    Prepare/review capital call and distribution notifications and other correspondence.
    Ad-hoc reporting requests as required by clients.
    Review private equity fund clients partnership agreements, subscription documents, PPMs, and other materials
    Responsible for corporate and regulatory compliance, including FATCA/CRS.
    Manage the operation of bank accounts and attend to bank compliance reviews.
    Coach and conduct cross-training within the team.
    Manage and monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables.
    Plan, administer and manage budgets.
    Conduct performance appraisals for team members.
Key Requirements:
    A minimum of  3–5 years of fund accounting/administration practice (practice in either private equity or hedge fund administration would be an asset).
    Degree in Accounting or Finance  (MIA, ACCA or equivalent would be advantageous but not required).
    Strong written and verbal communication expertise (fluent English).Attractive remuneration package will be offered to the right candidate.
