About the function
 
We seek a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Finance team as a Principal Functional Integrity.  The Finance functional integrity teams’ key accountcapability is to embed, improve, govern and assure the integrity of Finance Systems, Process and People. this function also contributes to leading and delivering a rigorous programme of Transformation and Continuous Improvement across the Finance function including Global Asset Services (GAS). The Principal Finance Integrity will have responsibilities under four key areas:
   Integrity and Governance: Accountable for the integrity, governance and control environment of global Finance transactional and reporting processes and systems to deliver accurate financial statements.
   Process and Technology Changes: Accountable to validate, prioritize, endorse, design, deploy and manage change for process and technology improvements and act as the conduit between Technology and Finance.
   Improvement: Provides process excellence input for the design and delivery of large, complex global projects for Finance and other global functions.
   Capcapability: Build process and technology capcapability across the Finance teams by governing a sustainable program. Key Relationships

Core Accountabilities

Accountable for the integrity, governance, assurance and control environment of global Finance transactional and reporting processes and systems to deliver accurate financial statements.
    Global process owner for selected Finance processes
    Business process management including governance, documentation and design of global finance processes and reporting frameworks
    Act as risk and control design owner for the global finance processes
    Perform assurance of master data and process compliance to ensure teams are executing the processes as we expect and that the data meets the definitions
    Conduct process and control design evaluations and control walk-throughs as part of the Sox program
    Assess process performance through developing and reporting appropriate efficiency and effectiveness metrics
    Participate in risk assessments of projects, process and technology changes
    Support internal and external auditors in performing control walkthroughs of automated controls and process control clarifications
    Provide design input to governance processes for process, reporting, automation and systems changes and upgrades
    Build and leverage strong cross-functional relationships to enable a collaborative approach to issue identification, escalation and resolution
    Challenge, review and maintain design exemptions for Finance focused on improved control environment and standard global processes
    Review, continuously improve and maintain technology application catalogue for finance applications
    Provide inputs to the Finance technology roadmap and work in close collaboration with Strategy and Planning, Technology and Enterprise Improvement to prioritise and deliver the roadmap
    Provide inputs to opportunity assessments and take carriage of them into the Technology demand and delivery pipelines Accountable to validate, prioritise, endorse, design, deploy and manage change for process and technology improvements.
    Participate in the identification, validation of business requirements, business case and value prioritisation, design (identifying and mitigating risks), deployment and change management of automation, reporting and analytics and process improvement opportunities.
    Validate business requirements, business cases and frame value opportunities to support key changes to Finance people, processes and systems
    Provide governance, assurance and process skills to enterprise structure, acquisitions and divestment projects
    Assist Technology and Enterprise Improvement in the change management and deployment of projects, process and system changes
    Review and provide input to projects, process and  system change impact assessments
    Review and provide input to communications and change management plans and deployment approaches for projects, process and  system changes
    Facilitate integration with Technology and Finance key users through the Technology Finance functional forum
    Facilitate cross functional review and change impact assessments forum as owner of the global organizational design Provides process excellence and improvement input for the delivery of large, complex global projects for Finance and other global functions.
    Participates in the delivery of key improvement opportunities from the Finance and Technology roadmaps
    Work with significant  Finance, Enterprise Improvement and Technology stakeholders to define scope and input into plans of projects
    Provide governance and process skills input to clarifying business requirements, design, prioritization, planning and execution of improvement opportunities with the objective to simplify and standardize processes
    Facilitate and participate in workshops to capture business requirements and improvement opportunities through the leading value program
    Collaborate to influence key teams and drive an improvement agenda for end to end process standardization and improvement
    Support promotion and embedment of a continuous improvement framework, leading value program and culture in Finance teams to improve control environment, productivity and business results
    Build continuous improvement capcapability via coaching and mentoring Build process and technology capcapability across the Finance teams by governing a sustainable program.
    Research system use, incidents, end user practice and capcapability in order to prepare and deliver capcapability programs focused on improving finance process and technology capcapability
    Continuous improvement of the Finance key user model including coaching of key users and chairing of key user forums and facilitating capcapability sessions
General
    Drive and support organization, cultural and innovation change for Finance
    Participate in outside professional forums/activities to maintain knowledge on developments that could be adopted or identifying best in class benchmarks
    Conform with the BHP Charter, Code of Conduct, Requirements and significant statutory obligations
    Have an overriding commitment to health, safety and environment responsibility and to sustainable development
    Participate in leading and developing a BHP culture for new teams globally and in GAS (KL and Manila)

Qualifications
    Degree level qualification in Commerce (Finance or Accounting)
    Finance body certification (CA / CPA / CIA, etc.) or post graduate qualification (MBA)
    Continuous improvement accreditation or Lean Six Sigma qualification could be advantageous
Non-Technical Competencies:
    practice in leading and implementing significant finance process change through global finance process reengineering, technology systems and transformational projects
    practice in organisational change and culture development
    Demonstrated governance, risk and control evaluation and analytical skills
    practice in finance process design driving innovation and application of emerging technologies
    practice in project management, stakeholder management and continuous improvement
    Strong knowledge of technology infrastructure and master data management principles.
    practice in Petfunctionum and/or Mining industry could be advantageous
    Minimum 5 years’ practice in related subject matter
    practice with shared service functions preferred
    practice with SAP, automation and reporting technologies
