JOB DESCRIPTION

This position is located at BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' Sdn Bhd, a RM3.4 billion joint venture that combines the innovative strengths and capabilities of two well-established Fortune 500 companies, BASF SE (60%), the world's leading chemical company and PETRONAS (40%), Malaysia's fully integrated energy company with a wide network of operations around the world. Established since 1997, BASF PETRONAS Chemicals' 'verbund' (integrated) chemical production facility is sited in Gebeng, Kuantan, Pahang Darul Makmur. MAIN TASKS
    Responsible for the turnaround preparation to meet the agreed business requirements on safety, quality, duration and cost
    To lead and plan the quality system, engineering systems of work and audit the compliance with the system in the preparation phase through to execution.
    To brief the TAR team on the quality control procedures, targets and systems for the Shutdown. Set up the agreed inspection and test requirements for the TAR. Attend and participate in TAR planning meeting and any other meeting as and when required.
    During Execution phase, contact with the Area Engineers/managers regarding problems relating to the quality systems and resolve actions. contact with Inspection Department regarding equipment repairs (defect) and inspection test requirement and technical issues. To monitor job completion to ensure all significant inspections and test requirements have been completed.
    During Post execution, prepare a report for TAR Manager, highlighting lessons learnt and compile a quality dossier on completion of the TAR.



Requirement
    Degree in Safety & Environment or Engineering from recognized university
    6 years working practice with preferably in a petrochemical, chemical or oil and gas industry
    Have working practice working in Turnaround
    Having highly proactive attitude with strong problem solving and analytical expertise
    Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skill
    Able to work under intense pressure in a fast paced environment and deliver within tight deadlines
    Proactive, committed and result oriented team player
    Good in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both spoken and written

The range of chemicals produced by BASF PETRONAS Chemicals meet the growing demand in various industries including plastics, adhesives, lacquers, dyestuff, automobile and industrial coatings, paper, diapers, water treatment, textile and leather.
In April 2014, the company broke ground on its new Integrated aroma ingredients complex which will house facilities to produce citral, citronellol and L-menthol. The aroma ingredients produced will be used as flavors and fragrances for the food & beverages, fabric and homecare and personal care industries.
The MYR1.5 billion (approx. $500 million) complex will be developed in phases, where the first plants of the complex are expected to come on-stream in 2016. This cutting edge technological investment will make Malaysia an important hub in Asia Pacific for the world-wide supply of aroma ingredients.
